THE PECULIAR PEOPLE. (DANIEL 1:1-18).

The word PECULIAR, in general terms, means, means being distinguished from others, bought or redeemed. God wants us to be in all ramifications of our Christian lives. Hence, He refers to Christians as a Chosen Generation designed to show forth the praises of him -  (1Peter 2:9). God made a promise in Exodus 19:5.

     ATTRIBUTES OF THE PECULIAR PEOPLE.
It is expedient that we consider some of the expected attributes of the peculiar Christian. These include :
1. Being genuine born again.
2. Becoming a sanctified vessel unto honor.
3. Must be a Spirit-led believer.
4. Must be unworldly.
5. Must not be tossed by every wind of doctrine.
6. Determined to stand out.
7. Heaven-focused.

BENEFITS OF BEING A PECULIAR CHRISTIAN
Like the biblical Daniel, any child of God that decides to be peculiar stands to enjoy the following benefits among others.
1. He becomes a tool in God's hands.
2. He becomes God's favorite.
3. He will have access to classified information
4. His labour will not go unrewarded.
5. He shall remain a star forever.

        CONCLUSION
You have a choice to make, either to be ordinary or to be peculiar. However, those that will stand out must be willing and ready to pay the price. (2 Timothy 2:21)
Thanks for viewing, God bless you as you have a sunny Sunday.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FULL TIME: Liverpool 0 – 3 West Ham. Goals from Lanzini, Mark Noble and Diafra Sakho sees West Ham win at Anfield for the first time in 9 years

90+ FULL TIME: Chelsea 1 – 2 Crystal Palace: Falcao equalizes for Chelsea after Bakary Sako opened the scoring but an immediate effort just after Chelsea’s goal sees Joel Ward give Palace a famous victory.

Jose Mourinho’s 100th Premier League game at Stamford Bridge has been spoilt by a stunning performance from Crystal Palace.

90+ FULL TIME: Manchester City 2 – 0 Watford. Sterling and Fernandinho continue City’s excellent start to the season

90+ GOOOOAAALLLL Sakho scores again for West Ham. Liverpool have been dreadful today

90+ Manchester City have two minutes of added time to see out their game. They lead Watford at the Etihad stadium 2-0 (Sterling and Coutinho)

90+ FIVE MINUTES! That’s how many minutes of stoppage time Chelsea have to find a second equaliser.

88′ Matt Jarvis comes on for the impressive Payet

87′ A debut for Kelechi Iheanacho who replaces the impressive Raheem Sterling

85′ Yellow card for Liverpool’s Danny Ings as Manuel Lanzini comes off for Recce Oxford

84′ Kenedy tries his luck from 30 yards. He hits his shot cleanly but straight at McCarthy.

83′ Yohann Cabaye comes off for Joe Ledley while Bakary Sako is replaced by Chung-Yong Lee

82′ OOOOOHHHH DEAR Palace score again. Chelsea were level for less than two minutes. Sako directs Bolasie’s cross back into the six-yard box, where Ward is on hand to head into the unguarded net.

81′ GOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLL Falcao equalizes for Chelsea. Pedro whips in a dangerous ball from the right and Falcao gets in front of his marker to steer a header past McCarthy at the near post.

79′ RED CARD: Mark Noble receives his marching orders for a foul on Danny Ings. Really reckless but shouldn’t have been a straight red

78′ Most teams would be sitting back and parking the bus when protecting a 1-0 lead at Chelsea. Palace are not resting on what they have, though, and are pushing for more goals

78′ Watford boss, Flores removes Etienne Capoue for Ben Watson

75′ David Silva comes off for Fabian Delph. The Spaniard has been impressive today

74′ Chance for Palace but Bolasie turns a cross wide at the far post, under pressure from Ivanovic.

73′ Watford remove Odion Ighalo and replace him with Miguel Layun

73′ Mourinho brings on Loftus-Cheek in place of Nemanja Matic

71′ Yellow for Cabaye for a foul on Fabregas.

70′ Yellow card for Lucas for a reckless challenge

70′ OVER BY HAZARD! Some patient build-up from Chelsea sees Pedro lay the ball off to Hazard on the edge of the area, but he clears the crossbar with his sweeping effort.

67′ another Chelsea sub – Kenedy on for his debut. Azpilicueta off with 67 minutes on the clock. The attacking Brazilian goes to left-back

66′ Instant Chelsea substitution – Falcao on for Willian.Attacking move by Mourinho

65′ GOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLLL in the Chelsea/Palace match. Good attacking move on the left sees Soaure find Bolasie, whose cross finds Sako. He is initially blocked by Azpilicueta but smashes his second attempt into the roof of the net.

63′ OFF THE LINE! Chelsea are awarded a corner after Pedro’s shot was deflected wide following a strong run from Costa and, from the resulting kick, Cahill’s deflected header is cleared away by the well-placed Sako.

62′ Chelsea are yet score in their match against Crystal Palace

61′ Yellow Card for Watford’s Sebastian Prödl

60′ SUBSTITUTION: Danny Ings comes on for Firmino while Abdi is replaced by Ikechi in the Manchester City vs Watford game

59′ Bolasie has just been sent on by Pardew in place of Zaha, who had been the quieter of the two Palace wingers in all fairness. The substitute will add plenty of pace and flair to the visitors’ attacks.

53′ SHOT! From a very, very long way out Dejan Lovren has a crack at goal and certainly gets hold of his shot. Randolph however, is right behind it and comfortably holds on to it.

52′ GOOOOOAAAAAALLLLL for Man City. Fernandinho scores from a Silva assist. Toure’s freekick is blocked as far as Silva who expertly sets uo the Brazilian for the second goal

51′ Red card for Coutinho. The Brazilian collects his second booking of the game for recklessly tackling the impressive Payet

49′ Diego Costa is set on the chase by Hazard and looks to shoot. Delaney gets his tackle in just in time.

47′ GOOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLL Raheem Sterling scores for Manchester City. The English man tapes in Sagna’s cross

47′ Liverpool vs West Ham kicks off. Albberto Moreno comes on for Emre Can Liverpool revert to a 3-5-2.

46′ Chelsea and Manchester City kick-off their second half matches. Jesus Navas is removed as Samir Nasri takes his place on the field. The Spaniard was rather quiet in the first half but it appears it’s more a tactical change for the hosts, with Sterling moving more centrally and Silva heading out onto the right.

HT in all matches being played at this moment

45+ Yellow card for Phillepe Coutinho for protesting a yellow car

45+ Chelsea goes into the break level with Crystal palace. Same in the Manchester City vs Watford match

45+ Four minutes of added time in the Liverpool vs West Ham match

44′ DOUBLE SAVE by McCarthy who block’s Costa’s powerful driven effort and the rebound by Fabregas

42′ Yellow card for Vncent Kompany for reckless challenge on Jurado

40′ A good Blues move ends with a chip into the danger zone by Azpilicueta – but Diego Costa’s boot can’t quite get there.

38′ Liverpool looking shaky at the back, Manchester City taking their time to attack while Chelsea have met a brave Palace side who are attacking with pac

37′ Yellow card for Mark Noble for a foul on Emre Can

31′ Palace are having a real go at this. Sako tries his luck with a driven effort from distance, but sees it flash well wide of the target. Very positive signs for the visitors, nevertheless. Crystal Palace are taking the game to Chelsea today

30′ Almost for Cabaye and Palace. Zaha lays the ball across the area and the unmarked Frenchman runs onto it, but opts for placement instead of power and Courtois saves.

29′ ANOTHER GOGOGOGOGOGOOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLL!!!!!! for West Ham. Mark Noble scores as Lovren is bullied off the ball by Lanzini close to the touch line

27′ Watford give the ball away to Sterling in their own half and the winger drives past Nyom, with his low effort just about getting tipped around the post and out for a corner by Gomes.

24′ COURTOIS saves! Palace hit Chelsea on the counter with Sako been found in space. He bares down on goal before shooting from a tight angle and Courtois has to make a strong block to deny him

20′ ALMOST FOR PEDRO! The Spaniard cutting onto his left foot before bending an effort just wide of the far post. His signing looking like a steal for Chelsea

18′ Silva plays in the Man City corner but Deeney clears the danger for Watford. Jurado tries to counter-attack but Sterling tracks back with good pace.

16′ Watford win to consecutive corners but Man City clear their lines and win one of their own on the counter-attack.

14′ In the Man City game: Aguero spins away from Catchcart and plays in Toure, only for the official on that far side of the pitch to raise his flag for offside

13′ Meanwhile in the Chelsea game, a deflected effort by is easy for McCarthy to handle. Chelsea looking the better side now

12′ Mark Noble wins a corner off Benteke, Reind wins another corner after the initial corner is cleared by Skrtel

11′ Chelsea have met a strong Palace side today who are attacking with intent. The team is going through Ivanovic’s right hand side

8′ Zaha receives the ball in the area and looks to take on Ivanovic, who does well to deflect the Palace winger’s cross over the bar and behind for a corner.

7′ Aguero collects the ball from Silva and tries to weave his way into the penalty area, but Capoue drops back and snuffs out the danger with an important interception in the nick of time.

7′ Firmino tries a shot from 30 years with his weaker left foot but the ball hits the bar

5′ Palace already have three corners in their match against Chelsea, Lanzini’s goal is the first to be scored by a West Ham player at Anfield in nine years

4′ Abdi wins a free-kick for Watford after Toure pulls him down on the breakaway, with the Ivory Coast international perhaps a tad fortunate to not receive a yellow card for that.

3′ Two early corners for Palace, but Ivanovic heads the second one clear before an offside flag goes up. Cheelsea 0 – 0 Palace

3′ GOOOOOOAAAAALLLLL West Ham shock Liverpool. Cresswell’s cross is palyed in by Lanzini

2′ Mark Clattenburg is in charge of the Manchester City game

1′ All three matches kick off

CLASS NOTE : TAXONOMY (17/08/15)

At 5pm, we had TAXONOMY. It was quite an interesting class with no test. Lol..... . Today we discussed PHYLUM ANNELIDA. here are some of its features :
They are large and spacious, segmented metamerically, they have nephridria, they can be with or without chaetae (legs), they have well developed nervous and circulatory system, some are parasitic in nature.
They are the first set of Coelomate animals, they are called Eucoelomates.
   The classes are:
1. Arthiannelida: Fresh water annelids with fairly segmented bodies. Eg. Polygordrin sp
2. Oligarchaetae: Both terrestrial and fresh water annelids, they have both sexes and have 4 pairs of chaetae (legs)  on each segment of their bodies. Eg Lumbricus terrestrial (earthworm).
3. Polychaetae: More segmented morphologically, they exhibit cephalization(distinct head segment), they have 2 pairs of legs at each segment. They live in Seattle water only. Eg. Neries diversicolor.
4. Hirudineae: No definite body segmentation, they have annuli (false segment), they are parasitic, contains 2 sucker at their head and tail, no chaetae present as they move by muscular contraction and elongation, they also possess anticoagulant in their saliva called thirudin which enables them to suck blood easily. Eg. Hirudo medinesis (leech).

Morpholical features of Earthworm.
* They are cylindrical in shape, well segmented but not fully.
 * At max length, they are one foot long, they have two parts (ventral - dark in color and dorsal -   light in color).
* All parts of the body are segmented except the mouth and tail, the first and last segments lack Chaetae.
* On the body of the earthworm, (except 1,2,3 and last), there is nephridrio pore aperture used for my  excretion..
* Oviduct and spermateca and in a confined segment of the body.
The lecture had to leave earlier due to the news of the death of an ND 3 student(his project student). MAY HER SOUL REST IN PEACE. AMEN.

12 WONDERS OF LEMON WATER. DRINK IT FIRST EVERY MORNING.

The lemon is widely known for its health
benefits. It is rich in magnesium, fibers,
enzymes, potassium, calcium, antioxidants, iron,
calcium and vitamins C and B. Moreover, it is
known for its weight loss aid as well as for its
antiviral, immune-boosting, and antibacterial
properties. Don’t hesitate and start your day
with a glass of warm lemon water. This simple
routine will do wonders for your health.

Recipe:
All you need to do is to squeeze ½ fresh lemon
in a glass of lukewarm water. It is
recommended to use organic lemon, not bottled
one. Drink the water right away. This should be
the first thing you do in the morning, before you
eat and workout.

1. Cleanses Your System and is a Diuretic.
Being an antiseptic acid, lemon juice has the
ability to cleanse your entire system, flushing
out all harmful chemicals and toxins. As it
increases urination to flush all toxins, it helps in
normal bowel movement. In addition, lemon
water helps in increasing the production of
enzymes that stimulate liver detoxification
function.

2.  Clears Skin
According to many studies, lemon contains
antioxidants that help in compensating dead
skin cells. It also heals blemishes, and fights
any free radical that could potentially harm the
skin. Finally, it helps in the fight against
bacteria that cause acne, it revitalizes the
damaged ski, it delays the process of aging and
it leads to youthful and more glowing skin.

3. Boosts Your Immune System
It is a well-known fact that lemon is one of the
best sources of vitamin C. As a result, it
increases immune system resistance to
diseases and it helps in fighting common colds.
It is rich in potassium as well, a mineral that
helps in controlling blood pressure levels.
Thanks to its high vitamin C or ascorbic acid
content, it provides anti-inflammatory
properties. This is really important because it
helps in the treatment of various respiratory
issues and it lessens asthma attacks.
In addition to all this, lemon contains saponin, a
phytochemical which acts as powerful
antimicrobial agent and it helps in preventing
cold and flu.
4.  Boost Brain Power
As mentioned above, lemon is rich in
magnesium and potassium, making it a great
ingredient for the brain and the entire nervous
system.
Moreover, it can boost energy level and improve
your mood because it fights stress and
depression.
It helps you concentrate and focus better, which
is the reason why students and people with
stressful work are recommended to consume
lemon water.

5.  Balances pH levels
We already know that citric and ascorbic acid
helps to alkalize the blood. Lemons contain both
of them, and as a result they have the ability to
balance the acidity in the body. According to
many studies, when the body`s pH is acidic is
the time when disease occur. Regular
consumption of lemon water can regulate the
acidity in the body and thus, prevent diseases
such as uric acid.

6. Promotes Better Digestion
Lemon juice produces citric acids which are
good for the entire digestive system and help in
cramps and stomach pain.
According to many studies, lemon water
improves the absorption of aluminum hydroxide,
an antacids active ingredient which then helps
in controlling the acid level in the stomach.
Finally, lemon water cleanses the liver and by
doing so, it promotes more bile production. The
bile is an acid which is essential for good
digestion. Being an antiseptic acid, the lemon
helps cleanse and flush out toxins in the
digestive tract. Finally, it relieves indigestion
issues, such as belching, bloating and heartburn.

7. Hydrates Your Lymph System
The lymph system has a huge role in our body’s
immune system.
It the body is dehydrated, you will notice the
symptoms of sluggishness, tiredness and a drop
in the immune system, leading to low/high blood
pressure, constipation, stress, low energy level,
unfocused mind, and bad sleep.
Drinking lemon water compensates, hydrates,
and replaces the lost fluids in the body, leading
to prevention of the aforementioned conditions.

8. Anti-Cancer Agent
First of all, lemons are rich in antioxidant that
delay the process of aging, thus reduce the risk
of cancer cells. Moreover, it s a good
neutralizer acid which prevents acidic
environment, the one in which cancer cells grow
and multiply.

9. Promotes Healing
As mentioned above, lemon water has the ability
to heal scars and blemishes. Besides that, it
helps in healing and maintaining healthy tissues,
cartilages and bones.
Thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties it
promotes good health and fast recovery from
injuries and stress. When combined with other
vitamins and minerals, its activity is even more
potent.

10. Helps in Weight Loss
Lemon is a great ingredient when it comes to
dieting and weight loss process because it
contains pectin, a set of polysaccharides with
gel-properties, a fiber helping fight cravings for
food. According to a research, people who
follow an alkaline diet tend to lose weight much
faster.

11. Freshens Breath
The lemon is a citrus fruit that is very refreshing
and it gives a freshly scent. It relieves the
symptoms of gingivitis and toothaches.
It is recommended to rinse the mouth with
clean, purified water after consuming lemon
water.

12. Energizes and Enhances Your
Mood
It is a well-known fact that vitamin C is great
mood enhancer. As lemon is rich in vitamin C
and important micronutrients, it has the ability
to reduce fatigue, depression, stress, anxiety
and it helps our mood to be more positive.

SPORTS UPDATE : BITTER PILLS FOR CHELSEA AS ARSENAL EARNS HARD FOUGHT VICTORY AT PALACE.

                 MAN CITY VS CHELSEA... .
The Blues were rarely in the same league as their hosts at the Etihad Stadium, Sergio Aguero setting the tone before Vincent Kompany and Fernandinho's second-half goals. Manchester City continued a strong start to the Premier League season with a thoroughly convincing 3-0 victory against reigning championsChelseaat the Etihad Stadium.Restored to the starting XI, Sergio Aguero looked short of sharpness as he missed early chances before finally burying one midway through the first half.Chelsea's distance behind a dominant City side was underlined by the substitution of captain John Terry at half-time but it brought no significant upturn in their fortunes and Vincent Kompany scored for the second consecutive game with a near-post header to settle it for Manuel Pellegrini's side.W  With the Blues tamed, Fernandinho added insult to injury in the 84th minute as he finished off a cibrant team move by firing a low clean shot through a crowded penalty box.

                       ARSENAL VS CRYSTAL PALACE.

The Gunners recovered from their opening-day defeat to pick up maximum points against Alan Pardew's side at Selhurst ParkArsenalsecured their first win of the Premier League season after a Damien Delaney own goal granted them maximum points against London rivals Crystal Palace.
Having been pegged back before half-time,Arsenal – beaten by West Ham on the opening day – secured all three points justbefore the hour as Delaney handed the visitors their sixth successive win over Palace.
Olivier Giroud netted his first of the campaign after 16 minutes to give Arsene Wenger's side the lead with a superb finish, before Joel Ward recorded the second Premier League goal of his career to level things up.Arsenal's advantage was restored 10 minutes into the second half as Delaney diverted Alexis Sanchez's header beyond Alex McCarthy.

CLASS NOTE : PATHOLOGY (PART 2)

On Friday(14/08/15), We had our Pathology class of the semester. It was an interesting and funny class as the lecturer continued with his comedian antics. This is a breakdown of how it went down :

* Definite Host: This is a host in which adult or sexually-reproductive stage of the parasite is found.
* Intermediate host- This is the host that habour  the larva or asexually-reproductive stage of a parasite. It actually hosts' the parasite for part of the life cycle.

Vectors: They are organisms who transfer diseases from one host to another or from one environment to another. The types of vectors are: Mechanical and Biological vector.
   Sources of infection are:
1. Fecal-Oral transmission.
2. Vertical transmission.
3. Eating of improperly cooked beef or fish.
4. Auto-infection.
5. Air-borne infections.

ADAPTAION OF PARASITES
Adaptations exhibited by parasites are:
1. Morphological adaptation
2. Life cycle adaptation
3. Immuno-logical adaptation.
4. Bio-chemical adaptation.

We then discussed Protozoa.
Protozoans are unicellular animals which are often microscopic. Some species are free living while some are parasitic.
Types of their life cycle are :
1. Simple/direct life cycle - They do not involve an intermediate host. Examples are flies, cockroach etc.
2. Complex/indirect life cycle: It involves two or more hosts. Examples are: Fasciola sp, Taenia sp. Etc.

The class had another funny end as there was an Adam and Eve scene where a guy and a girl shared an earphone. The lecturer scolded them and made a scene.... Lol...
What are your thoughts??

CLASS NOTE : PATHOLOGY (PART 1)

On 31/07/15,We had the first pathology class at 5pm. It was quite an interesting class as it featured some funny highlights. This is a summary of his work it all went down :

Pathology is the study or science that deals with diseases, the causative agent, mode of
entry, and their host reaction to the presence of the pathogen in the plant or animal.

    Associations in Biology.
1. Symbiosis: This is an association or relationship between two different organisms in which one organism Lives close to another and both benefit from each other. Example: REMORA AND SHARK, CATTLE AND BACTERIA etc

2. Commensalism: This is a relationship where two organisms live close to each other and one derives benefit without the host being affected. Types of commensalism are:Cleaning and Protective commensalism.

3. Mutualism: This is a relationship in which one organism Lives on another and they both gain from the relationship. Example : Fungi and Algae in Lichen.

4. Parasitism: This is a relationship between 2 different organisms which only one partner benefits while the other is getting harmed. A parasite may be inside the host or outside. Inside is called Endo parasite,  Outside is called Ecto parasite.

5. Horosis: This is an association in which one organism nearly or totally provides support or transport for another organism from a different specie. Examples are BACTERIA, Fungi, cyst or egg of protozoa or helmenthes

At the end of this funny class, the lecturer entertained questions and after a few 'sensible' questions, we had YOMI who asked him: ARE YOU MARRIED??? The stunned lecturer looked surprised and asked him ARE YOU SEEING ME?? That was how the class ended...lol!

Do you guys remember this?? LOL!!!

Drop your comments on what you think about this.... mine is FUNNY... YOMI IS CRAZY!!!!

The result for Aldehyde must be the appearance of a shining silver mirror on the wall of the test tube.
The result for Ketones must be the appearance of yellow, orange, or red color precipitate.
The observation will contain: Test, Observations, Conclusion.
Hope you guys enjoyed this piece, more to come. Stay blessed...

FACT: CRYING IS IMPORTANT & NECESSARY FOR PERSONAL GROWTH.

Did you know that human beings aren’t the only
animals that feel sadness? Almost all animals
express sadness, depression, and loneliness in
their own way. In fact, almost all mammals
mourn the loss of their offspring. But human
beings are the only type of animal that are
taught self-expression should be tamed or
suppressed. Girls are told to stop being so
“sensitive”, and boys are told to “be a man” and
toughen up. Boys are taught that crying to
much means they are a sissy, and girls are told
crying too much makes them crazy.
We aren’t told that crying is actually essential
and is something we should do more of if we
feel it’s what we need to do to express
ourselves. We develop resistance to crying,
which causes emotional suppression, which
causes psychological and physical
complications. We bottle up our emotions and
expect them to take care of themselves, when
the cure to our problems is sometimes as
simple as allowing ourselves to actually feel
deeply for a moment.
Contrary to what we are told by society, crying
is actually health and should come as naturally
to us as smiling if it’s what we feel in a
moment. Here are some key reasons why
crying is necessary for healing and personal
growth:

1) It clears your energy field
Crying is for your energy field like showering is
for your body. It releases built up emotions and
feelings, and gets energy moving through your
chakras in the way that nature intended. Your
body is not stupid. It knows what it needs to
feel and when. It’s just a matter of giving
yourself permission to feel what you feel and
look passed any social programming or
conditioning that is preventing you from opening
up to your own emotions.
If you feel tension in your energy field, it is
usually because of suppressed emotions and
you are holding on to something. To fully let go,
you can’t just let go in your mind. You have to
also let go in your energy field, and you do this
by stopping the habit of resisting vulnerability
and holding back tears.

2) It allows more to come up
Every time I cry, more and more bubbles up that
I didn’t even realize was there. For example,
anger is a typical defense mechanism to cover
up pain and fear. When you allow yourself to
see past your anger and into your pain, you will
realize that you are only angry because you are
in pain or are scared of being in pain again.
When you realize you are in pain, you will begin
to cry and start to discover why.
What starts off as you crying over seeing your
boyfriend talking to another girl ends up in being
you crying over feeling rejected by all male
figures in your life and how you are afraid of
non-acceptance by males. And crying over this
makes you realize that you really wish your
father would reach out to you, and makes you
realize that you wouldn’t feel so insecure in
your relationship if you repaired your
relationship with your dad. The more you cry,
the more comes up from your subconscious
mind.

3) It prevents serious health
issues
Suppression of emotion can lead to serious
health issues. Bioenergetics is the science of
home emotions and psychological issues
translate into the body and get stored in the
forms of diseases and pain. For example, if you
have a defense system that turns pain into
anger and gets stored in you as anger, you are
literally poisoning your body with the amount of
stress hormones that are released from the
body. 90% of all diseases are either caused or
worsened by stress in the body, and burying
emotions causes hormones like stress,
adrenaline, and cortisol to be produced in the
body.
Crying is a form pf physiological release. It is
the way the body is designed to handle and
process emotions, and when we force our
bodies against their natural reactions, it will
always cause complications somewhere else
within the body. It’s almost like trying to force
yourself not to sweat because you have been
told that sweating is for “wussies”. Sweating is
your bodies way of cooling itself down, and if
you were able to hold in the sweat to try to
seem more manly or less crazy, you would
cause yourself to overheat. The same can be
said with tears.
I've  had to cry recently over various things,
sometimes in public and sometimes in front of
family members who haven’t seen me cry
before. The part of me that is socially
programmed wanted to hide it from them, but if
we can’t even feel comfortable being honest in
our words and form of expression with how we
truly feel, society is not worth living in. Don’t
ever feel embarrassed, crazy, or ashamed for
crying for any reason. The reasons for your
tears are always going to me more valid than
reasons to hold them back.
WHAT  DO YOU GUYS THINK?? ?

A LESSON FROM HISTORY

A Lesson From History

Everything's easy after it's done;
Every battle's a 'cinch' that's won;
Every problem is clear that's solved--
The earth was round when it revolved!

But Washington stood amid grave doubt
With enemy forces camped about;
He could not know how he would fare
Till after he'd crossed the Delaware.

Though the river was full of ice
He did not think about it twice,
But started across in the dead of night,
The enemy waiting to open the fight.

Likely feeling pretty blue,
Being human, same as you,
But he was brave amid despair,
And Washington crossed the Delaware!

So when you're with trouble beset,
And your spirits are soaking wet,
When all the sky with clouds is black,
Don't lie down upon your back

And look at them. Just do the thing;
Though you are choked, still try to sing.
If times are dark, believe them fair,
And you will cross the Delaware!

EVIDENCE FOR REINCARNATION THAT WILL ABSOLUTELY SURPRISE YOU. ..

Reincarnation is an incredible old belief held by
many that you don’t truly die but are reborn
repeatedly as someone or something else. Some
believe you can be reborn as a snail or a gazelle,
others believe we are repeatedly reborn as
humans, and some believe that when we’ve
learned all we have to learn in our human vessel,
we move on to another spirit plane.

Science has spent years studying children who
claim things about their past lives. Sometimes it
turns out to be false or just an imaginative child,
but other times, the evidence is a little bit
stunning. Check out this video and hear the
evidence yourself. It features 2 children who
believe they lived over 50 years ago in another
life.
What do you think? Do you believe
you’ve lived past lives? Do you have
any memories from them? Have you
ever dreamed about being someone
you’re not? Be sure to sound off in
the comments below.

CLASS NOTE : ORGANIC CHEMISTRY (11/08/15)

This class started by 7pm on Tuesday evening and it was a 'normal' class as there was no light and the class was noisy and rowdy.
The lecturer said because of the light outage, he was not going to do much and he left after about 30 minutes as he couldn't bring the noisy class to order.

A summary of the class goes thus:

   PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF ALKANES.
1. The molecular formula increases by CH2 down the group.
2. Down the group, form of compounds change. methane - butane are games.
3. As the carbon chain increases, there is a change in boiling and melting points.
4. Highly branched ALKANES are better than the branched.

  SOURCES OF ALKANES.
1. Natural gas: When plants decay under water, it produces games of which 70% of methane.
2. Petroleum (crude oil).

    FRACTION OF PETROLEUM  & USES
1. Natural gas:Used for combustion.
2. Gasoline (petrol) :Used for fuelling cars, generators etc
3. Naphtha : Used to dissolve salt in laboratory.
4. Aviation fuel: Used to fuel aircrafts.
5. Kerosene : Used to fuel cooking stoves.
6. Gas oil (Diesel) : To fuel heavy trucks and bused.
7. Lubricating oil: It helps to reduce friction in engines.
8. Asphalt &  Bitumen : For taring of roads.
Hope you guys enjoyed this piece, more to your way. Stay blessed .

A HELPING HAND

A Helping Hand

When I was down and out of luck
When dark the path, my life had took
When I was at my lowest low
A rope, a helping hand did throw

And pulled me up, out of the pit
And in the dark, a candle lit
And for my hunger gave me "Bread"
Then quenched a thirst inside my head

This loving servant helped me see
There's so much more to this, than me
By helping me, she showed me love
And led me to the One above

And now, alone, as I reflect
I find a spot of self-respect
That had been drowning in my tears
And had not shown itself in years

Let me through life, now walk, not run
Because the help of this true one
Did set me straight and on my way
And I'll remember day to day

Christ is that Helping Hand,
That you might receive it He was hanged
Closest to you He is, that you may Cling, and behold
Never down you will always go

FACT: CANCER CELLS THRIVES ON PROCESSED SUGAR

We all know that if we want to improve our
health, the first thing we need to do is change
our diet! Even though everyone has heard of
this, the fast-food lovers and sugary-treat
fanatics are yet to be convinced. They might
have heard of the consequences their favorite
foods cause to their bodies, but they continue
diving in their high-fat, high-sugar foods, without
giving it a second thought.
Nature Medicine recently confirmed that foods
containing processed sugar are the main reason
behind the growth and spread of cancer tumors.
In fact, the results were so conclusive, that
future cancer screening may rely on scanning
the body for accumulated sugar for signs of the
disease.

This discovery was made after the University
College London (UCL) in the U.K. experimented
with a new cancer detection method that
involves utilizing a unique form of magnetic
resonance imaging (MRI). The scientists
sensitized a MRI scanner to look specifically for
glucose in the body, and it revealed
that cancer tumors – which have been proven
to feed off sugar – light up brightly as they
contain high amounts of sugar.
Explained by a recent UCL announcement, “The
new technique, called ‘glucose chemical exchange
saturation transfer’ (glucoCEST), is based on the
fact that tumors consume much more glucose (a
type of sugar) than normal, healthy tissues in
order to sustain their growth.” The university
gave an update saying that the tumors appear
as “bright images” on the scanner.
When traditionally scanning for cancer, the
presence of tumors is identified by using low-
dose radiation injections because radiation is
another known cause of cancer. But such an
injection is not the best choice due to
its potential side effects. However, this method
is effective because the things that activate and
encourage cancer cells to expand and multiply
can also be used by doctors to detect it inside
the body. And now, sugar can be officially
added to that list.
“The method uses an injection of normal sugar
and could offer a cheap, safe alternative to
existing methods for detecting tumors, which
require the injection of radioactive material,” says
Dr. Simon Walker-Samuel, lead researcher of the
study from the UCL Center for Advanced
Biomedical Imaging (CABI).
The study’s senior author reported that it was
shocking to discover that the glucoCEST
method could effectively identify the presence
of tumors only by using the amount of sugar
that can be found in “half a standard sized
chocolate bar.” This finding is astonishing, as it
suggests that even moderately low amounts of
sugar have the potential to
promote cancer proliferation.
UCL is not the first source to link processed
sugar with diseases like cancer. Dr. Robert H.
Lustig, M.D. and Professor of Pediatrics in the
Division of Endocrinology at the University of
California, San Francisco (UCSF), cites that
sugar consumption causes most of the chronic
illnesses prevalent today. Lustig is a famed
author of “ Sugar: The Bitter Truth”, and he
describes his findings in many videos.
The main culprits of deadening sugar include:
white sugar and flour, sweetened and processed
foods, and fast food. When these foods break
down in the body (when compared to natural
sources of fructose from fruit), they cause an
increase of hormones to be released
(specifically insulin), and in effect, signal
for cancer cells to feed and continue to grow in
size.
Dr. Lewis Cantley, head of Beth Israel
Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) at Harvard
University, shared the sugar-cancer link in a
CBS interview: “What we’re beginning to learn is
that insulin can cause adverse effects in various
tissues, and a particular concern is cancer.”
He continued, “If you happen to have a tumor that
has insulin receptors on it, then it will get
stimulated to take up the glucose that’s in the
bloodstream. So rather than going to the fat or to
the muscle, the glucose now goes into the tumor,
and the tumor uses it to grow.”
These sources came to the conclusion that the
only way to have a healthy body, and a
nourished mind, is to choose wholesome,
unprocessed, and predominantly plant-based
foods. You should consume more greens,
vegetables and plant-based proteins, and
decrease the amount of processed foods in your
diet. Our bodies can be capable of healing
themselves, and it is becoming increasingly
evident that we must make the necessary
changes for that to happen.

FACT:REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD BE SLEEPING ON YOUR LEFT SIDE

Everyone knows that sleep is very important
for maintaining a good physical and mental
health. However, the duration of your sleep is
just as important as the way in which you
sleep. Your sleep position can influence your
health, help in keeping your skin look young,
and improve your digestive health.
Furthermore, sleeping on the left side of your
body can even save your life. If you are
currently sleeping in another position, keep
reading to find out why you should start
sleeping on your left side right now.

IT MATTERS WHICH SIDE YOU SLEEP ON

There are several sleeping positions – your
front, your back, your left side, and your right
side – and they all affect your health.
Sleeping on the back can be particularly
dangerous for people with sleep apnea or
asthma, because it can cause breathing
difficulties.
Sleeping on the right side is likely to worsen
digestion problems, whereas sleeping on the
left side may improve digestive symptoms.

BENEFITS OF SLEEPING ON YOUR LEFT SIDE

Sleeping on the left side is believed to greatly
improve the health and even save lives. In
holistic medicine, the left side of the body is
the dominant lymphatic side, and while you’re
sleeping on this side, your body will have more
time to filter toxins, lymph fluid, and waste
through the thoracic duct and the lymph
nodes.
On the other hand, sleeping on your right side
may cause your lymphatic system to run more
slowly. You don’t want this to happen,
because a lymphatic system that doesn’t run
at full efficiency can become incapable of
filtering toxins or properly moving lymph fluid
throughout the body. This increases your risk
of deadly diseases due to the build-up of
toxins.
When you start sleeping on your left side, you
might notice your body becoming more
efficient at toxin disposal through waste. This
happens because this position improves the
digestive system, and allows your body to
promptly extract nutrients and dispose toxins.

LEARN TO SLEEP IN THIS POSITION

If you normally sleep on your back, your front,
or your right side, you might wonder how to
break that habit and start sleeping on your left
side. This will take some time and practice,
but it is possible to quickly train your body to
sleep in this position. Here are some tips:
You can try lying on your left side and press a
full-length body pillow up against your back.
The pillow will prevent you from rolling over
during the night.
Try switching the side of the bed you sleep
on. This will make it easier for you to flip to
your other side and enjoy the same sleeping
experience.
Another trick is to keep a dim light lit on your
right side. Since your body will naturally want
to turn away from the light during sleep, it will
make it easier for you to sleep on your left
side.
Try these small changes as soon as you can –
they will improve your sleep routine and lead
you to a better health.

CLASS NOTE : CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION (11/08/15).

On Tuesday at 5pm we had Citizenship and we had a stand in lecturer for our lecturer who was not around to take us. Our stand in lecturer discussed the following:
              MASS MEDIA
This is a tool used for the distribution or dissemination of information to the general public. The people who engage in mass media are called JOURNALIST.  The types of mass media are:
* Print media: Eg. Magazine, Newspaper, Journal, Poster etc
*Electronic media : Eg TV., Radio, Internet etc.
Roles of mass media are: To enlighten, to entertain, to mobilize, to advertise, to educate and to distribute information to the general public.
Problems of mass media are: Corruption, security, gender bias, cultural problem, ideological problems and oppression by the government.
Solutions to the problems are: Provision of security, encouragement of all gender, freedom of speech and expression law should be enforced, citizen enlightenment and education about the media, there should be support for all genders to practice journalism.

        CONSTITUTED AUTHORITY
This is when a person or a group of people exercise their legitimate and approved power on others for the benefit of the society. This is legitimately backed by the Constitution and law.
The sources of Constitution are: Legal rational, Charismatic and Traditional.
Power is the ability to compel others to do things against their own will. It is intoxicating, non legitimate and it comes with force.
          BUREAUCRACY
This is an organization deliberately created for the realization of specific purposes and which use rational methods of administration than tradition to achieve their purpose.
Disadvantages are: It is time consuming, it is not objective in nature, it is meritocracy..
Objectives e & Principles are : objectivity, meritocracy, rationality, purposefulness, unambiguous, precision.
Hope u all enjoyed this piece, comment to share your thoughts. Thanks and God bless.

CLASS NOTE :COMPUTER PACKAGES (10/08/15)

On Monday after Taxonomy, we had computer at 7 pm. Before the class, there was a last-minute rush for the copying and submission of the assignment which the lecturer gave in his last class. This assignment questions and answers were exclusively available on Yaba Pulse.
Most of the class time was wasted by the lecturer who came to the class late and laughed unnecessarily occasionally. There was light out and darkness for some minutes after he came in and it lasted for about 20 minutes. He used most of the time to distribute textbooks to the students who had paid for them to Jesse, the course rep.
Finally, the class commenced by 7:45PM and he basically gave us this semester's course outline and here are some of the highlights:
1. To know the existing Application Packages.
2. To understand Word Processing  Packages.
3. Electronic Spreadsheet.
4. To understand the Fundamentals of Accounting Packages.
5. To understand Presentation Packages.
The lecturer continued with his strict attitude and approach as he attended to anyone who made noise by sending them out of his class. The class was occasionally disrupted and it was even delayed for about 10-15 minutes because of a 'lady in black' didn't leave his class after he ordered her to. She eventually left and class continued till 8 45PM where it was ended.
Quite an eventful day, hope you guys enjoyed this piece. Your Comments and suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you all.

NEWS : WE ARE IN TROUBLE ECONOMICALLY - BUHARI

"The trial of former public officers who
looted the national treasury and stashed the
funds in foreign banks will commence in few
weeks".These were the words of President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, when he met members of the National Peace Committee led by former Head of
State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar at the
Presidential Villa, Abuja.
General Abubakar, however, advised President Buhari to follow due process in the prosecution of corrupt officials, reminding him that Nigeria was no longer in a military regime.
President Buhari, who vowed to break the vicious cycle of corruption, unemployment and insecurity in Nigeria, stated that his administration would not only ensure that stolen monies stashed in foreign bank accounts were returned but that the looters must be tried..He disclosed that he was gathering documents
which would serve as evidence against
suspected culprits in the anti-corruption war.
The meeting between President Buhari and the
committee, it was gathered, followed an earlier
meeting with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,
during which committee members were told of
the persecution that members of the PDP were
facing in the hands of the new governing party.
“Nigeria has to break this vicious cycle before
we can make progress,” the President said.
The President, who regretted the sorry state of
the country’s finances also told the committee
that as part of his actions to address the
national problems he inherited, he has ordered
the reorganization of Nigeria’s revenue
generating institutions..
Buh explained that a single treasury account had
been established for all federal revenue to
ensure greater probity, transparency and
accountability in the collection, disbursement and
utilisation of national funds.
His words: “We have really degenerated as a
country. Our national institutions, including the
military, which did wonderfully on foreign
missions in the past, have been compromised.
But we are doing something about it. The
military is now retraining and morale has been
resuscitated.
“As Petroleum Minister under Gen. Olusegun
Obasanjo in the 1970s, I could not travel abroad
until I had taken a memo to the Federal
Executive Council asking for estacode. Now,
everybody does what he wants. That is why
security-wise, and economically, we’re in trouble.
Those who have stolen the national wealth will
be in court in a matter of weeks and Nigerians
will know those who have short-changed them.”
The National Peace Committee, then asked him
to follow due process in the anti-graft war.
They also reminded the President that Nigeria is
not under a military regime, stressing that
everyone suspected to have committed any
crime was assumed innocent until proven guilty
by a court of competent jurisdiction.
Rising from the meeting held behind closed-
doors in the Presidential Villa, the committee
remarked that though corruption was not to be
condoned, the process of prosecuting suspects
has to be constitutional.
Speaking to State House Correspondents on
behalf of the committee, the Catholic Bishop of
Sokoto Diocese, Dr. Matthew Hassan Kukah, who
confirmed the meeting with former President
Goodluck Jonathan, however, said the former
president never begged for their intervention.
According to him, the meeting was a hearing-out
process.
“We gave a bit of update about the relevance of
the Peace Committee itself and how we can help
to nurture what God has given to us. Anybody is
free to come to our committee but President
Jonathan never by telephone or another means
talked to the committee. We went to see him,
but that was after we had already seen members
of the political party, members of the civil
society; we plan to see the Speaker because we
couldn’t see him yesterday.
“This is a very planned series of interventions
essentially just to hear out everybody and I think
the good news is that Nigerians are committed
to a new nation. They are committed to ensuring
that the gains and blessings God has given us
come to fruition.
Due process must be followed —Peace
committee
“This is not an intervention, it is a hearing out
process. When we had election, it was like a
wedding, now the reality of government is the
marriage and people need to be encouraged. We
need to reaffirm that this is our country and the
only thing we can collectively be opposed to is
injustice, inequity, corruption and in that regard
we all had one single conversation.
“The President has also reaffirmed the need for
this committee to continue and the international
committee has very much welcomed the
contributions of the committee. Essentially we
are not policing, but when the need arises, we
will help to build confidence in the process.
“It is not heating up the polity. In our
conversation with former President Jonathan and
members of the parties, I don’t think any
Nigerian is in favour of corruption or is against
the President’s commitment to ensuring that we
turn a new leaf. I think what we are concerned
about is the process. It is no longer a military
regime and under our existing laws, everybody is
innocent until proven guilty. The trial of former public officers who
