CLASS NOTE : TAXONOMY (10/08/15)

Welcome guys to another edition of class notes(Taxonomy), hope you guys enjoyed last week's edition.

The class started by 5pm and it was an interesting class as the lecturer continued with his brilliant no-textbook style, his pronunciation and spelling of the biological terms were excellent.
He revised last week's topic a d he touched: Fasciola hepatic. Here are some of the features :
It has muscular mouth pharynx, it had two openings(ie mouth and anus), it has both mouth and ventral sucker, it's body is ciliated and spiny, the spines are backwardly directed, it's genital opening is between the hook sucker. Fasciola feeds on liver tissues of animals.
He went further and discussed PHYLUM NEMATODA. Here are some of the features:
They are roundworms, cylindrically shaped, non-segmented, they are all parasitic, they contain mouth and anus, they have both sexes. Some have  Phasmids(sensory organ at their tail) while others do not have plasmids.
          Classification of NEMATODA
*Phasmida : eg Dranculucus medinesis (Guinea worm), Loa loa, Necator americana, etc
*Aphasmida : eg Trichuris trichuira, Trichenella spiralis, Astoria lembricoides etc.
The lecturer then surprised us all with an impromptu test which he solely supervised and invigilated. He divided the class into two groups and tested us in batches.
Question : Were you prepared for the test??  Comment to answer!!! .
